Opening coverage becomes unreliable when an announcement is treated as an operating venue. This watchlist uses a stricter rule: an entry needs a published address plus current evidence that guests can visit, book or order. Renderings and “coming soon” posts stay off the list. Each item carries a check date so readers know what was actually verified.

Two Men Bagel’s Ekkamai opening was reported by Time Out Bangkok on 25 June 2026 with a live restaurant listing. It brings the Singapore-founded bagel shop’s sandwiches and café format into the neighbourhood. Check the brand’s current channel for exact hours and queue conditions before making a special trip.
Somsak Ekkamai — checked 8 September 2026
BK Magazine reported Somsak Ekkamai as a new Thai eatery from the team behind Fatboy Izakaya. The useful distinction is format: contemporary neighbourhood Thai cooking rather than another generic café opening. Confirm reservations and current service directly with the venue before visiting.
The planetarium reopening remains pending
Bangkok Planetarium is not a new opening, but its renovation is one of the area’s most consequential changes. The dome closed on 30 March 2026, and published estimates have ranged from late 2026 to around January 2027. We will treat it as reopened only after the Science Centre for Education publishes current visitor information.
What does not qualify
A future-tense press release, an undated map pin or an inactive social account is not enough. Neither is a venue described only as “near Ekkamai” when the address is elsewhere in Bangkok. We also exclude temporary pop-ups once their published dates have passed.
How the list is maintained
We look for a current first-party booking or ordering path, a recent official post, or credible dated coverage that names the operating address. When a venue closes or moves, the entry will be amended rather than silently left in place. Hours should still be checked on the day of travel.
